On June 1, 2026, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released new Home Energy Rebate Program Notices describing updates to the Rebates program guidance documents for the HOMES, HEEHR, and Tribal HEEHR programs.

The prior guidance released by DOE throughout 2023 and 2024 was established to promote best practices and fill gaps in the underlying statute, originally passed by Congress via budget reconciliation in 2022. These new updates incorporate new policy direction from the Trump Administration and streamline prior guidance in certain areas based on industry feedback.
